Nurse Manager

- Oversees the Cardiovascular Progressive care unit and the 9E overflow telemetry unit, using a collaborative approach, assures mutual cooperation of the multidisciplinary team supporting the goals for the shared patient focused on post cardiac surgery and telemetry patients. - Active recruitment and retention skills are essential. - Uses critical thinking in planning, priority-setting, and decision-making while ensuring positive working systems exist to support the staff's ability to meet patient needs. - Is a role model inspiring others through displayed optimism, provides intellectual stimulation, and encourages follower creativity. - Requires 24-hour accountability. - Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. - Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). - Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. - Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

* Minimum Education:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field OR * Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing * Preferred Education:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing * Minimum Experience:5 years related clinical experience * Preferred Experience:3 years progressive management experience * Required Certification:American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider * Preferred Certification:Certification in specialty area of practice or role * Required License:Current CA RN License * Preferred License:Not Applicable
