Summary
We are seeking a Social Media Communications Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of External Communications, the Social Media Communications Manager will proactively plan and lead social media programs that help protect, preserve and enhance Voya’s brand and reputation – and amplify the character of its brand – across social media platforms.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement social media strategies that portray a positive view of Voya and its employees and align with the company’s external communications strategies. This includes specific, measurable objectives and tactics, as well as innovative ways for the company to enhance and improve its social media presence. * Build Voya’s relationships with a broad array of stakeholders – including customers, investors, employees, communities, and policymakers – through social media. * Partner with other members of the corporate communications team, the corporate marketing team, the business unit marketing teams, and Voya’s external PR agencies to ensure that Voya’s social media efforts are aligned and complementary. * Support employee engagement efforts through social media to help amplify employees’ roles as advocates of the company, who drive actions that strengthen Voya’s corporate reputation and brand and help achieve the company’s business goals. * Develop editorial calendars for Voya’s social media channels, and create original, compelling content on a daily basis to effectively reach and engage Voya’s key stakeholder groups. * Recommend topics for – and engage with senior management on – pertinent subjects and themes that they can personally share via social media outlets to humanize the company and build the authentic character of the brand. * Monitor effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. * Analyze anecdotal and qualitative data to develop recommendations and plans for optimizing social media campaigns. * Ensure that the social media aspect of crisis communications plans is appropriate and effectively integrated.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field **Required Qualifications:** * Minimum of five years in a social media heavy role in a corporate/agency environment. * Experience managing multiple social media channels and leveraging social media scheduling tools showing proven success increasing activity and engagement as well as growing followers. * Demonstrated knowledge of social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy and ability to fully navigate platforms with an eye for emerging trends and new platforms that will resonate with key stakeholder groups. * Experience utilizing social media measurement tools to determine the impact of campaigns. * Track record of developing and implementing successful social media campaigns and brand-building programs. * A proven team player, who thrives in a collaborative setting **Required Skills:** * Experience in financial communications is a plus. * Proven track record of driving and managing change in a complex organization. * Proven experience partnering with senior leaders. * Superior writing skills. * Excellent oral communication competencies. * The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. **Critical skills:** * Customer Focused: Passionate about delighting customers and offering unique solutions that exceed expectations. * Critical Thinking: Ability to reach well-reasoned solutions and solve problems through a thoughtful process of analyzing data. * Team Mentality: Partner effectively to drive and execute on common goals. * Business Acumen: Appreciate and understand the financial services industry. * Learning Agility: Open to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage.
