(New York, New York)Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine the voice of the site on all of our on-and-off platform channels, social and otherwise
- Help reporters and editors package stories for specific channels and audiences
- Own big-picture brand / social strategy: identify opportunities on emerging platforms, and use existing platforms to better target new audiences
- Set best practices and tone of voice for Eater's many social accounts, coupled with your own constant oversight of and enthusiasm for those accounts (weekends, too!)
- Measure and study effectiveness of social media strategy across platforms
- Engage with readers across all platforms and encourage interactivity Integrate with the Vox Media marketing and audience teams to help build audience development best practices and coordinate on press outreach
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of the social media space
- 3-5 years of experience in social media marketing, PR, and/or journalism
- Extensive knowledge of all mainstream and some emerging social channels
- Proven track record running social for major media outlets or brands preferred
- A fresh, fun, engaging voice and writing style
- A deep and thorough understanding of social media metrics
- A love of restaurants, food, and drink and knowledge of Eater and its voice
- Incredible attention to detail and intolerance for errors
