Summary
Seeking highly motivated Regional Advisor Consultant to support our growing mutual fund distribution business through independent broker/dealers and RIAs. The role will develop and implement a regional sales strategy, provide service to existing advisor relationships, and skillfully articulate investment-related themes through written and verbal communications. Responsibilities
* Participates in business development and relationship building activities such as making outbound calls and sending emails to potential third party gatekeepers, as well as responding to emails and in-bound calls, engaging with large RIAs, and assisting in the development of RFP sales language customized to clients within specific markets to ensure that competitive and differentiated solutions are effectively presented. * Liaises with senior members of the Marketing, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Product, Operations, Research and Information Technology departments internally, along with external constituents, to collate, analyze and complete accurate responses to a wide range of questions in a timely manner. Ensures all responses are available in a clear, concise and accessible format and housed within a centralized repository/directory. * Helps analyze external research lists of recommended funds and assists with the determination of where USAA aligns within them. * Over time, master all products and services and develop increasingly specialized knowledge of products and understanding of performance. Works directly with portfolio managers and other firm experts to translate technical investment concepts into understandable language. * Interfaces with internal leaders on dealer contracts and agreements. * Assist in the development of marketing communication strategies and plans, including providing marketing support by assisting with the preparation and distribution of pitch books and other marketing resources. Partners with Corporate Communications, Compliance and General Counsel/CCO to ensure that all external communications are approved for distribution. * Leads RFP processes to include gathering data and providing reports to clients, reviewing and analyzing quantifiable information to ensure accuracy, preparing and editing RFPs, and cataloging responses accordingly. Completes a variety of formal RFPs and ad-hoc information requests for existing and prospective investors. Analyzes the existing RFP processes and develops/implements more efficient and streamlined processes for future responses. Maintenance of the RFP response database with the most accurate, up-to-date information.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or 6+ years of experience in finance. * In addition to the Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, do you have 5+ years of investment business development-related experience, investment management and financial services. Ideally includes sales and direct outreach to members/customers as well as client service * Thorough understanding of the mutual fund industry and marketing communications * Experience working in a capacity requiring strong writing skills, meticulous attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines within a high volume and time sensitive environment * Proven skills in project management, data analysis, financial writing, proofreading/editing * Ability to work independently and within established guidelines **Preferred** * Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields from a Military Academy * Research experience related to institutional investors such as advisory platforms, retirement plans and investment portfolios * Successful completion of military service * Broad investment services industry knowledge * Ability to effectively work with both internal and external clients on business development opportunities * Research and data analysis skills * Experience preparing RFPs as well as investment advisory services * Communication and presentation skills * Organizational, time management and negotiation skills * Military service, Series 7, CFA * Current possession or actively pursuing CFA designation
