Summary
As a key member of Propel Insurance's Employee Benefit team, the Account Executive - Small Group and Individual, fills a vital role responsible for ensuring the growth and support of one of our more significant customer bases. The primary goal of this position is to maintain the retention, servicing and new sales efforts for small group (<20), individual, and Medicare business.
Responsibilities
* Manage internal work flow for the client life-cycle * Analysis and marketing of small group, individual, and Medicare insurance programs * Assist in the development of renewal strategies * Preparation of renewal and new business proposals, presentation materials and supporting documents as necessary * Provide claims, eligibility, billing and plan administration advocacy and resolution * Maintain effective working relationships with Carriers and Vendors * Maintain broad knowledge base of Carrier and Vendor products and underwriting requirements * Develop accurate and effective employee communication materials * Conduct and coordinate client/prospect presentations including open enrollment meetings, renewal, material delivery, etc. * Ownership of the client life-cycle documentation in the agency management system (documents, emails, phone calls, contracts, internal processes and procedures, etc.) * Maintain a current working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues including but not limited to COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, etc. * Assist in the training and development of all Propel team members
Ideal Candidate
* Broad working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues * May specialize in specific area of expertise: Individual, Micro Small Group, and Medicare. * Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills required * Superior abstract reasoning and analytical abilities * Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations * Skilled at balancing tight timelines and competing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused positive attitude * Ability to anticipate and satisfy client needs and expectations * Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint (some positions may require Access, and other specialized software experience) * Experience managing confidential information (HIPAA) * Commitment to on-going professional continuing education * College Degree or equivalent job experience * Minimum 4 years experience working with Employee Benefits Programs in a brokerage or equivalent setting * Applicable State Life and Disability License * Medicare Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire) * Pursuit of a professional designation (RHU, REBC, CEBS, etc.)
