Summary
The Claims Technical Assistant provides key operations and administrative support to the claims division as required to complete the claims handling process, in accordance with established workflows, procedures and other company protocols. The purpose of this position is to provide operations support to claims adjustors to ensure effective claim handling practices.
Responsibilities
* Set up new claim files including Genius, URS and ImageRight file set up * Send acknowledgement letters on new claims * Handle payment processing including indemnity payments, invoice payment and expense payments * Interact with other departments and offices as well as outside counsel, claimants and insureds * Responsible for all Genius coding changes * Responsible for handling Genius processing for closing claims * Process, review and scan all incoming correspondence into ImageRight as well as accurately index all documents in filing queue * Responsible for phone support and taking first notice of loss calls * Responsible for providing responses to broker inquiries * Process returned/void Checks * Performs other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Claims Department
Ideal Candidate
* Experience with Insurance Claims desired * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills * Effective oral and written communication skills * Effective problem solving skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word * Strong attention to detail, goal oriented * Commitment to excellent customer service * Team player * Associates degree and/or equivalent work experience
