Summary
The main purpose of this position is to successfully execute projects within the Scottrade enterprise in accordance with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Policy and Procedure. This position leads the work of others and requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude to accomplish assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
* Execute Project Management process in a matrixed team structure by performing methodology specific activities including: setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring/summarizing progress, developing and maintaining project schedules. Other activites include project hours management, scrum practices, resource forecasting, issue and risk management, ensuring consistent communication, meeting facilitation, release/deployment planning, actively managings projects’ triple constraints of quality, schedule, and scope. Manage team velocity planning on projects ranging from 1000 to 5000 hours and project teams of up to 30 associates. * Complete timely and consistent project reporting such as: weekly and monthly project status; new or outstanding issues, risks, actions and decisions; upcoming or late tasks and deliverables. Present reports and status updates to all levels of management. * Establish, build, and maintain working relationships with project stakeholders, project team members and vendors in a wide variety of IT roles, vendors and other departments as necessary to encourage team work and enable effective collaboration. * Recommend process improvements of existing or new processes and serve on departmental sub-committees as assigned. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:** * Demonstrated knowledge in all facets of project management methodologies including, but not limited to development and utilization of project schedules, Scrum practices, resource plans, risk and issue plans, communication plans, and change management plans. * Knowledge of at least one software development lifecycle management methodology: Waterfall, Iterative, or Agile. * Ability to lead multiple project teams of up to 30 team members representing multiple functional areas in a matrixed environment. * Ability to lead and manage project teams in a fast-paced environment that requires adapting to change. * Ability to lead multiple projects up to 5000 hours in effort, representing multiple functional areas with external vendor or third party involvement, in a matrixed environment. * Strong written and oral communication skills, leading meetings and facilitating Scrum ceremonies and delivering correct and concise reports and presentations to senior management. * Effective use of leadership skills to manage large complex projects. Ability to provide conflict management and display sensitivity to others; negotiate effectively, and use individual influence to address team performance issues. * Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Visio, Rally, and Clarity or other project management tools. * Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude. **Physical Activites & Requirements, Visual Acuity, Working Conditions And Noise Level:** * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. * The physical requirements of this position are considered to be sedentary work (Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.). * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less in order to view a computer screen). * The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate (business office with co-workers, copiers, shredders, printers, etc). **Contacts With Others:** Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters as well as regular contact with other departments, or outside the organization furnishing or obtaining factual data requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. May need to regularly utilize specialized communication skills in order to maintain goodwill with internal and external customers. May be required to present to management and work product may influence future departmental or organizational policy or procedure decisions. **Minimum Education & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * 4+ years of project management-related experience utilizing project management processes, tools, and best practices required. Experience utilizing one or more project management methodologies required. * 2+ years experience managing or leading IT projects, up to 30 team members and >1,000 resource hours required. * Financial services systems knowledge and online technology experience preferred. * PMP (Project Management Professional)PMI- ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), ITIL Foundation (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), and COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) Foundation Certifications preferred.
