Summary
As a member of the North America (NA) Compensation & Benefits Center of Expertise (CoE) team, contribute to the development of the Region C&B strategy, policies and processes and drive the development, implementation and communication of Territory/Country C&B programs aligned with both Regional and Global C&B strategies, policies and processes.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the strategy and direction of the Global and Region C&B function and serve as a point of contact and C&B subject matter expert for designated NA functions. * Proactively support the Region C&B Head with the design/development/implementation and effective monitoring of specific compensation, sales incentive plans and benefits solutions, programs, policies and processes to support current and future business strategy in line with Syngenta C&B philosophy and managed within the organization's financial plan. * Provide expert advice and counselling to Territory Business Leaders, to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and HR Syngenta Business Services (SBS) to adapt global and regional reward programs and to ensure consistent and equitable implementation of programs that comply with local statutory requirements and market practice. * Provide internal consulting to HRBPs and line management on complex reward issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels according to global, regional and local C&B policies and procedures. * Identify, select and participate in C&B surveys for the region to analyze the company’s competitive market position for each country. * Conduct job matching to external surveys using market data and internal evaluation. * Proactively monitor external markets to identify trends and best practices in Territory/ Country C&B strategy and programs and incorporate into Syngenta’s programs where appropriate. * Provide C&B education and communication within the Territory/Country to raise awareness and develop knowledge amongst HRBPs, line managers and employees. * Work closely with Territory/Country HR SBS to ensure C&B policies and plans are supported by continuous improvement and facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of all C&B processes. * Work with local Procurement Team to negotiate local contracts/deals where appropriate to ensure the efficient use of external market data and benefit providers. * Contribute Territory/Country perspective as required to Global and Regional projects/processes. * Perform ad hoc analysis for costing, C&B program effectiveness and trend purposes.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, experience & capabilities** * Experience with analyzing compensation & benefit plans; developing and implementing plan design changes * Excellent organization, follow-up and analytical skills * Ability to analyze, organize and present data to Management * Excellent project management skills **Critical knowledge:** * Knows and understands leading edge C&B trends in NA. Knowledgeable of current legislation impacting pay/benefit programs. * Design/consulting/policy development of reward elements * Business acumen and strategic thinking * Masters, MBA, or C&B relevant certifications are helpful **Critical experience:** * At least 10+ years of relevant compensation and benefits experience, including 5+ years focus on compensation including design and delivery of base pay, Sales Incentive Compensation plan design and variable compensation; and 5+ years focus on Health & Welfare benefits. Retirement benefits (401(k), pension plans) experience also beneficial. * Demonstrated project management experience – planning, leading, managing critical compensation and/or benefits projects (plan design changes, vendor management changes). * Experience in an international environment; has operated/managed effectively across geographies, cultures and organizational boundaries. * Prior experience with C&B due diligence and integrations for M&A transactions is helpful. **Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:** * Able to question current practice and suggest novel solutions to issues and creative ideas for development * Able to translate business problems into effective solutions * Advanced Excel skills; detail-oriented; excellent analytical skills * Excellent communication and consultative skills and ability to influence and negotiate is crucial; able to build internal and external relationships quickly * Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously **Critical leadership capabilities:** * Leads change and holds ambiguity * Builds a culture of innovation * Focuses on customers * Develops people, organization, and self * Collaborates across boundaries **Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges:** * Maintains a balance between Global Center of Expertise (CoE) principles, priorities and standards, and regional constraints, imperatives, and opportunities. * Effectively communicates, builds relationships and influences across HR, business leaders and line managers * Provide expert consultancy; demonstrates ability to creatively address business issues using Reward levers * Working in a fast paced, changing environment * Consistently delivers projects against agreed deadlines and requirements * Works to understand and balance cultural differences without compromising business results **Innovations** * Employee may, as part of his/her role and possibly through multi functional teams, participate in the creation and design of innovative solutions.
