Web Developer (JavaScript, DHTML, and XML, SQL)

Streffco Consultants, Inc., is an international technical staffing and systems integration organization. We provide technology and business operations resources on a project, contract, contract-to-hire or direct hire basis.

We are looking for a Web Developer responsible for managing the interchange of data from a SQL server and a custom front-end web application. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end application. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end web application with mobile devices. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.

* Integration of user-facing elements with server side logic * Building reusable code and libraries for future use * Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability * Implementation of security and data protection * Design and implementation of data storage solutions

* Must be proficient in current HTML standards, such as HTML5 & CSS3, and aware of the differences between all the HTML version standards as adopted by the W3C, as well as future W3C standards, which are constantly being developed. * Must be proficient in SQL, JavaScript, DHTML, and XML. * Must be able to write server-side dynamic web pages such as Active Server Pages (ASP), ASPX using VBScript/VB. * Must be familiar with all types of online security schemes, and also with COM objects and similar techniques. * Must know how to optimize all formats for online viewing. * Must be familiar with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments. * Must be familiar with integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system. * Must be proficient in: Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Visual InterDev, Visual Studio.NET, Notepad, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat. * Must be able to write and debug code in straight text format, without the help of a GUI interface. * Must be familiar with management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes * Must be familiar with data migration, transformation, and scripting * Basic understanding of setup and administration of backups * Basic understanding of outputting data in different formats * Basic understanding of differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform * Basic understanding of creating database schemas that represent and support business processes * Basic understanding of implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
