Summary
Under limited direction, this position is responsible for:The successful candidate is responsible for the development of web and technology-based learning assets and holistic solutions that support business objectives. Work is accomplished in a highly collaborative environment, either independently or as a part of a larger project team including participants from all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
* Performs responsibilities independently with some guidance. The scope of work is generally well-defined and solutions are typically moderately complex. * Creates a range of technology-based to enable learning and operational effectiveness (e.g., online courses /websites / electronic performance support, simulations, assessments, graphics, video, custom data visualization, etc.). * Writes well-designed and commented code, when applicable. * Tests and improves all solutions. * Builds and documents solutions with ease of maintenance in mind. * Applies usability principles, development standards and best practices to learning solutions. * Collaborates with team members and business partners on all aspects of the solution, from conception to implementation. * Applies basic adult learning and/or design principles when building solutions. * Integrates learning solutions with relational databases to enable quality analytics and tracking. * Reuses existing content and infrastructure whenever possible. * Maintains knowledge in the state of the art learning technologies and approaches in a self-driven manner. * May design web pages (e.g., pages, graphics, animation, functionality) and associated infrastructure. * May make hardware or software purchasing recommendations.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience. * Minimum 1-5 years’ experience developing technology-based learning or content solutions. * Excellent understanding of web services, modular development, HTML5/CSS, XML, SQL and JavaScript/jQuery programming and frontend development required. * Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously required. * Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas and information effectively, clearly and concisely required. * Ability to design and create graphics and engaging user interfaces for eLearning courseware, presentations, and print materials a plus. * Working knowledge of SharePoint required. Development experience with SharePoint a plus. * Familiarity with server-based technology, learning management systems, databases and SCORM/AICC/xAPI standards a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. * Proficiency in e-learning development production and authoring tools such as Lectora, Camtasia, Articulate, Captivate, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premier, Adobe Audition, Microsoft Office Suite a plus. * Familiarity with adaptive and responsive design principles a plus. * Experience editing audio and video clips a plus.
