Summary
The Strategic Marketing and Events Manager will help establish a comprehensive marketing program across all Strategen lines of business to drive market impact and establish thought leadership through a combination of content creation and strategic marketing initiatives across multiple platforms. Key components of the marketing program include branding, public relations, strategic partnerships, content development, coordinating and managing key marketing-related vendors and social media. Identification and tracking of success metrics will be key. This position will provide strategic marketing support to all three lines of business but a key focus of the position will be to lead and execute a strategic marketing and public relations plan for Energy Storage North America (http://www.esnaexpo.com/).
Responsibilities
Holistically evaluate current marketing operations, platforms and channels and develop a comprehensive strategy, with clear goals and objectives, that ties together all of the tools and business development activities listed hereafter. **Develop an Integrated Marketing Strategy** * Review current marketing initiatives and evaluate their impact. * Refine marketing strategy * Manage marketing budget * Draft and integrated Marketing Strategy document **Social Media Management** * Grow followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into customers (and event attendees) * Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence * Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach our target audience **Marketing Operations / Analytics** * Create scalable processes that ensure best practices in lead generation and database management * Analyze data to inform strategic decisions by stakeholders across the company * Analyze marketing and sales data to develop insights and make recommendations on areas for optimization * Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing team performance ****Strategic Event Marketing and Management** (Primarily ESNA)** * Lead all strategic marketing for events, including partner events (i.e. ESNA held in October) and the CESA Market Development Forum in February. * Help plan event agendas, identify and secure speakers, special guests, and/or entertainment for each event * Collaborate across teams to promote events and drive registrations. * Analyze the success of each event, recommend changes, etc. * Attract new groups of customers * Leverage existing marketing materials and develop new assets to target key customer segments **Creative Content Production** Develop and refine a compelling narrative (or plan for this narrative utilizing Strategen’s internal team and external consultants) and value proposition thought leadership and market development. **Launch Content Strategy** * Create Editorial Guidelines * Create Editorial Calendar * Help identify interviewees and organize interviews * Draft blog posts * Draft collateral social (newsletter, twitter, Facebook) **Support Online, Print, and Partnership Marketing Campaigns** * Draft creative marketing content * Manage key marketing events around conferences * Review existing creative for online ads, banners, and formulate recommendations * Proof and edit print materials * Review and edit post show report
Ideal Candidate
* 3-5 years of cleantech marketing or agency experience supporting both thought leadership and growth in YoY event attendance * Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / English / Journalism or related field * Experience executing a variety of marketing initiatives as part of managing integrated content marketing program in a business to business environment/role. Experience in the energy industry is a plus * Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, no-nonsense minded, with a passion for advanced energy and energy storage * Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices * Experience developing social media content and promotions * Familiarity with marketing automation tools * Experience marketing for B2B companies a plus * Understand the customer journey to inform content opportunities to help remove barrier to conversion * Deep content strategy skills with proven track record for using content to drive business results * Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, creative content for multiple channels in a variety of formats across devices * Experience distributing content through multiple channels including editorial partnerships and social media * Strong leadership and management skills with internal teams and partners * Strong analytical skills and a passing for unearthing what makes content successful and building on it * Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain and continually improve editorial processes and workflows * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Personal Characteristics * Able to develop and articulate a vision * Creative * Analytical * Organized * Strong communicator * Collaborative team player * Keeps an open mind
