Responsibilities
Job Summary Sojourners seeks an Individual Giving Manager who will spearhead Sojourners’ multi-channel fundraising efforts in order to maintain and grow a broad base of supporters for the mission of Sojourners. The manager will also work closely with other members of the advancement team to identify prospects for upgrading and stewardship opportunities. Responsibilities - Plan, write, and manage the production of online and direct mail fundraising campaigns. - Lead individual giving strategy for those giving <$5,000; prepare data analysis for online and direct mail campaigns. - Assist with developing and implementing email list growth strategies. - Assist with coordinating messaging on all external platforms, and assist with monitoring the health of email subscriber list using email metrics. - Serve as the advancement team’s point person for all fundraising-related Blackbaud Luminate needs. - Produce revenue models/projections for online and direct mail campaigns. - Work with the Director of Major Gifts and Manager of Planned Giving to identify and upgrade donors from the annual fund to the major gifts level. - Assist in departmental budgeting process. - Prepare regular revenue reports and manage reconciliation of donor database to general ledger. - Supervise Individual Giving Assistant and Donor Services Associate and Database Administrator in the work of receiving, processing, and acknowledging all contributions and responding to donors’ questions and concerns. - Lead the advancement team in compiling and printing the Annual Report. - Oversee production of year-end giving statements to donors. - Assist the advancement team through the annual audit process: preparing reports and communicating with the CFO and Auditor as needed. - Manage use of the donor database software system (Raiser’s Edge); including oversight of protocols, data entry, and data integrity.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of successful fundraising experience, ideally working for a faith-based and/or progressive nonprofit organization. - Familiarity with fundraising best practices, standards, and ethics. Well-versed in individual giving trends; multi-channel fundraising within the nonprofit sector is highly desired. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser’s Edge required. - Experience with Blackbaud Luminate strongly preferred. - Strong organizational and project management skills; adept at working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously. - Ability to manage multiple sources of data and meticulous attention to detail required. - Expert interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills. - Enthusiasm about working collaboratively in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. - Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. - Knowledge of social and economic justice issues and scriptural tenets that undergird Sojourners’ involvement in them. Ability to speak from personal and institutional faith perspective. Understanding of and commitment to Sojourners’ faith-based mission.
