Summary
Sarah Lawrence College, a small co-educational highly selective liberal arts college located in Southern Westchester, seeks a Senior Director Of Communications & Marketing to manage the day-today operations of the Office of Marketing & Communications, under the direction of the Vice President for Marketing & Communications. Senior Director will be responsible for the creation and management of the annual Marketing & Communications Budget. All printed publications, which includes the quality of the development, design, and technical preparation of all print work produced by the department.
Responsibilities
* Directs the activities of professional and support staff; determines staffing needs and is responsible for the selection, training, supervision, work assignments, work schedules, evaluation and setting of staff priorities. * Ensuring the quality and consistency of all projects and client materials. * Develops and monitors all projects produced by the department; determines project priorities for the department and assigns work to staff. * Consults with and advises Vice President of Marketing & Communications regarding all projects, deadlines, budgetary limits, and strategy to be conveyed. * Works closely with individual units of the College acting as "project manager" on many of the projects that flow through Marketing & Communications. * Works in a "project management" capacity and to oversee placement and creation of the College's advertising. * Responsible for working with all units of the College in developing and managing the College's Marketing & Communications budget. * Serves as a member of the management team of The Office of Marketing & Communications.
Ideal Candidate
* At least five (5) years of increasing responsibility within an advertising agency or in-house marketing department, preferably within high education. * Experience within an academic community providing services to offices and departments. * Extensive fiscal management experience required, with demonstrated ability to manage multi-pronged budget and vendor relationships. * Can-do, customer-facing attitude and ability to not only multi-task, but to thrive in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Suite.
