Responsibilities
Join our high-performing marketing communications team and see the results of your work daily at SRP, a leading water and power utility and one of metro Phoenix’s top employers. We’re looking for a digitally savvy Digital Content Strategist to create and maintain online content that helps our customers manage their energy use and save money. - You’ll take an idea from concept to the screen while working with a creative team and subject matter experts. - Guide projects through a range of steps in the content lifecycle including research, writing, editing, targeting, tagging, architecting, testing, linking and search optimization, analytics analysis, repurposing and decommissioning. - You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, participate in cross-functional teams and champion online best practices. - The content strategist acts as a project lead to understand and execute digital communications according to overall business goals, customer and client needs and best practices. - The job involves a mix of short- and long-term projects and requires both strategic vision and attention to detail.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** - We are looking for a creative team player who has a passion for and experience working in interactive media, demonstrated technical aptitude and a commitment to continuous learning. Ability to manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines is required. - Candidates must have excellent written, interpersonal and project collaboration skills such as brainstorming, consensus building and conflict resolution. This position requires a blend of strong creative, analytical and technical abilities. Must be able to collaborate effectively yet work independently, taking responsibility for individual projects. **Additional required experience includes:** - Content creation for consumer audiences (both B2C and B2B) and ability to write copy for various audiences (explanatory, promotional, headlines, sidebars, subheads, meta data, photo captions, how-tos, Q&A, blogs, etc.) - Facilitation of requirements-gathering sessions with clients and/or teams to understand project objectives and expectations - Strong project management abilities - Understanding of mobile content best practices - Use of web-based applications, knowledge of HTML and commonly used tags - Mastery of spelling, grammar, punctuation. **Preferred experience includes:** - Use of online analytics tools - Agency or other client-service experience - Understanding current SEO techniques Familiarity with W3C best practices and AP Style - Usability and/or A-B testing - Understanding of the software development lifecycle. **Typical Education and Experience:** - Bachelor's degree in Interactive Communications, Digital/Online Media, Marketing Communications, Journalism, computer information technology or closely related field. Minimum of three years’ professional work experience in digital communications is required.
