Summary
Ryan Specialty Group, LLC (RSG) is a global organization comprised of wholesale insurance brokerage, Managing General Underwriters, and syndicates to Lloyd’s of London. RT Specialty, one of our premiere business segments, seeks an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing, fast-paced office located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Responsibilities
* Log in submissions. * Set up and rate submissions for broker. * Send submissions for approval to markets. * Analyze property catastrophe exposures and generate reports utilizing proprietary software.Create and prepare marketing summaries. * Perform follow ups information from customers and markets. * Prepare quotes. * Compose Certificates of Insurance. * Issue quotes, binders, and policies to internal brokers. * Follow up for payments and various items. * Solicit renewals according to company guidelines and procedures. * Check all documents received thoroughly for accuracy. * National travel as required to support divisions’ objectives & goals.
Ideal Candidate
* 4-year degree with 3+ years of experience with an MGA or MGU with large program underwriting experience. * Four year degree; Risk Management, Business, or Finance focus preferred. * Experience within the Commercial Property Insurance field a huge plus. * Excellent MS Office skills, advanced knowledge of Excel. * Proven Quality Assurance acumen to review quotes, binders, and policies in accordance with company guidelines. * Must be able to interact well with all employee levels as well as internal and external clients. * Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment. * Must be able to set and re-establish priorities in workflow as business needs change. * Must be organized and able to multi-task given assignments, seeing each to resolution. * Acts with a sense of urgency. * Demonstrates a commitment to outstanding client service * Excess and Surplus Property Insurance Industry and catastrophe modeling experience a plus.
