Summary
Under direction of the Commercial Lines Sales Manager, the Commercial Lines Account Executive (commonly referred to as "Producer") is responsible to pursue and close sales of new and existing commercial lines accounts and retaining assigned book of commercial lines business.
Responsibilities
* Achieve objectives established in annual producer sales and marketing plan. * Participate in ongoing staff and sales meetings as directed. * Maintain knowledge of commercial lines carrier products and services. * With the assistance of the Marketing coordinator implement email and direct mail campaigns to support company branding and prospect appointment strategy. * Maintain data entry into database daily with notes, activities, policy info, info classes and data updates following company field definitions. * Support and utilize webinars and seminars by personally inviting prospects and customers to events. * Be a spokesperson for the company and a positive position in the risk management industry. * Promote agency and insurance industry in the community. * Prospect for new business from existing clients and identified industry niches. * Contact prospects for the purpose of providing a quote and making sales appointments. * Survey prospects to determine insurance needs, inspecting current insurance policies, risk management plans, property, products and records. * Collect detailed risk and underwriting information including survey data and loss history. * Develop and deliver formal proposals of insurance including details of coverage’s, limits, deductibles and other pertinent information. * Work with service person or marketer to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets. * Conduct client and prospect appointments communicating proposals and renewals, explaining details and communicating desire to conduct business. * Introduce service person to clients and request that service calls be directed to them and forward all service related calls to assigned service person. * Stay informed of all claims or service issues and become involved in resolution when required. * Participate in renewals, when appropriate, by reviewing expiration listing with service person to determine appropriate action and collection of information to prepare renewal submissions. * Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc. * Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by agency management.
Ideal Candidate
**Skill And Educational Requirements:** * Four- year degree from an accredited college or university or three years or more of successful business-to-business selling experience at one company. * Ability to manage increased levels of responsibility. * Minimum of 3 years insurance experience including strong knowledge of insurance terminology, concepts and coverage preferred. * Familiar with Microsoft Office and Agency Management Systems; ability to use Internet and adapt to new software programs and changes in technology. * Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks. * Ability to solve practical problems; deal with concrete variables in situations; and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Ability to negotiate. * Ability to adapt to a paperless environment. * Ability to utilize social media marketing sources as well as traditional. **Inter-Relationship Component:** * Ability to develop excellent working relationships with Staff, Clients and Insurance Carriers. * Ability to be a Team Player and work cohesively with other staff members to achieve company goals. * Able to represent the company in a professional manner. * Able to consistently provide excellent client service. **Working Conditions:** * This is an Exempt Position, which will require more than a 7.5 hour work day – Monday thru Friday. * This Position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management. * This work environment is high pressured and fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion. * The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment. * Travel may be required.
