Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for placement as an Underwriting Analyst on small fully integrated teams. An ideal candidate will be self-motivated and comfortable working in teams both co-located in the same office as the candidate as well as co-workers located elsewhere throughout the U.S. This position will be located in the Dallas, Texas office. **Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:** * Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers and be responsible for maintaining high customer service satisfaction for due diligence collection. * Communicate and interact with Underwriters and Originators and other internal clients regarding transaction status and issues. * Manage critical path items and communicate with transaction participants, collect and review due diligence materials and contribute to underwriting conclusions. * Coordinate delivery of due diligence materials to third party report providers. * Coordinate delivery of due diligence materials from borrower to underwriting team, including working with a processor to coordinate the collection of property and borrower information. * Manage transaction timelines. * Review and complete Quality Control checklist on reports when received (including appraisals, market studies, environmental reports, and property conditions assessments). * Compile high quality application packages with minimal deficiencies. * Research local real estate markets. * Review due diligence materials for accuracy with assistance from senior team member. * Assist in responses to HUD deficiencies as needed. * Provide Lender Counsel with requested documentation. * Conduct rent roll, operating statement, and other financial analyses. * Manage data integrity in Loan Connect * Attend applicable HUD, external, or internal training as directed by management * Conduct mortgage credit, ESA, and PCNA analysis independently.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate or similar preferred but not required * Relevant work experience in the mortgage industry a plus * Excellent analytical skills * Strong organizational skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Detail oriented * Ability to multitask on several transactions at once * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment * Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust priorities as needed * Ability to travel to site inspections required * Familiarity with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) & ability to learn new applications
