Summary
Being the Payroll Compliance Manager at Namely is a fun and challenging job that will require you to collaborate with multiple teams across the organization to ensure that Namely’s payroll platform stays compliant and abreast of any payroll regulatory changes at the federal, state or local level. You will be part of the Legal & Compliance department. This is a key position that provides proactive guidance to ensure we are compliantly processing the payrolls of our customers. You need to be a team player and exceptionally customer-oriented to be successful in this position.
Responsibilities
* Act as the payroll compliance Subject Matter Expert for the company internally and externally (discussing with clients and representing the company in webinars and industry events). * Research payroll compliance issues raised by clients or internal stakeholders and provide guidance. * Proactively track payroll tax regulatory changes at federal, state and local level and collaborate with Product and Customer Success departments to propose product enhancements and updates to accommodate the changes. * Find solutions to payroll compliance issues, recommend system enhancements and assist in the development, testing, and implementation of the proposed solutions. * Assist Customer Success and Payroll Operations with year-end-year-start compliance activities. * Research, evaluate, recommend, and summarize payroll compliance implications of new products, product enhancements and technology requirements. * Update and maintain central depository of Compliance knowledge and records.
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, accounting finance or related field). * 7+ years of experience with multi-state payroll compliance issues. * In-depth experience with and clear understanding of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations affecting payroll. * Ability to understand complex regulatory changes and distill them into product updates or changes. * Ability to multitask and work in a fast pace environment. * Good understanding of how SaaS platforms and payroll product management works. * FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) by the American Payroll Association * Customer oriented attitude and excellent interpersonal skills **Nice to Have** * CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) by the American Payroll Association * Track record of teaching and mentoring other employees about payroll compliance. * Desire to participate in industry events and attend payroll conferences, seminars, etc. * Experience working at a large payroll provider. * Experience creating and overseeing strong relationships with key vendors and state and local regulators. * Managerial and leadership expertise.
