Design Engineer

Roll & Hill collaborates with some of the most exciting independent designers working today to create a collection of beautiful and unique lighting fixtures.

The design and engineering team is primarily responsible for product development and refinement. The candidate for this position will need a high level of technical skill in production design as well as demonstrate an advanced design aesthetic. It will be your job to develop products from sketches to final production. This will include engineering, Solidworks modeling, sourcing suppliers and prototyping. You will work closely with our independent designers and report directly to our creative director.

• Develop new products from concept to final production.
• Design custom configurations of existing products.
• Managing projects and meeting deadlines.
• Sourcing and managing parts and product suppliers.
• Controlling quality. Roll & Hill makes high-end, decorative lighting fixtures. Quality is very important from development to delivery.

• Product Design, Engineering or related degree.
• 3-5 years experience in production development. Experience in lighting, or related fields will be given preference.
• Expert level Solidworks.
• Critical thinking, the ability to foresee problems and suggest solutions.
• Planning, organization, management. Candidates must be able to oversee a product development from start to finish.
• Communication. Good communication skills are a must, as you will be interacting with colleagues and dozens of suppliers.
