Summary
RGA is seeking an individual to serve as the liaison for local offices for all retro related inquiries. Responsible for spotting trends, developing and implementing customized solutions and tooling, and providing training and guidance for all activities related to administering statements, managing retention, setting up business rules and managing premium, in support of local office and corporate objectives. Responsible for auditing controls and system output, developing reports, capturing and communicating requirements, partnering with developers and testing enhancements.
Responsibilities
* Execute the Payment and Cash Receipt handling process for the IRP (daily, quarterly) * Produce the monthly IRP reconciliation * Produce the IRP suspense account reconciliation * Process and produce retro billings for the International business units on a quarterly basis. * Produce reports requested by downstream users (both ad hoc and scheduled/recurring) * Assist with prioritizing Phoenix enhancement needs, work on developing requirements, testing code and updating procedure documentation to reflect the changes. Look at recommending enhancements based on work with the system, local offices and retro partners. * Ensure that all retro reporting from around the International Division is compliant with the terms of the retrocession treaties. * Convert data files from the local retro billings into a valuation file format on a quarterly basis, validate business rules and audit output. * Recommend and develop procedures and controls necessary for appropriate data and quality management. * Ensure that client issues and requests are addressed promptly and professionally * Develop and maintain value added reports in the BI center to support local office employees in their functions. Collect requirements, assess feasibility, gather feedback and partner with the training team to produce training material. * Support divisional leadership’s vision for the department that fosters a spirit of community, partnering and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate
**Eduacation and Experience:** * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience * 3+ years experience in insurance/reinsurance * 3+ years experience as a business analyst **Preferred:** * Progress toward FLMI, ALHC or other relevant professional accreditation * 5+ years Reinsurance industry knowledge **Skills and Abilities:** **Required:** * Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office and SQL Skills * Competent ability to comprehend and interpret insurance and contract documents * Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and associates * Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to share and impart knowledge * Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives * Flexible, autonomous and able to multi task * Ability to translate business needs and problems into system specifications for understanding by the development team. * Ability to coordinate and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables. * Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines * Ability to analyze and improve business processes * Competent knowledge of accounting/finance * Ability to appreciate the dynamics of working with a diverse offsite team members, and embrace technology to develop creative solutions and inject some life to bring this community closer together * Well versed and/or willing to acquire a knowledge of various tools and processes within and outside of RGA to assess whether or not any can be leveraged to support our users and partners * Ability to work independently * Ability to work well within a team and customer service focused environment * Ability to travel internationally
