Summary
Under the direction of the Loan Administration Manager, the LAIII provides support to multiple relationship managers/lenders (RM). This support includes facilitating loan closings, post closing follow up to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. Working directly with Commercial Real Estate customers and associates to solve problems and provide superior customer service. Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.
Responsibilities
**Closing** * Under minimal supervision of manager, expedite the closings of commercial real estate loans by * Implementing and facilitating the exchange of documents on the closing checklist, * Confirming the appropriate legal documentation is present and terms match those as approved in the credit presentation, * Coordinating the deal from checklist through booking, * Ensuring all closing conditions are met, * Managing RM/borrower expectations on closing time frames by providing excellent customer service, * Preparing / reviewing / approving loan closing settlement statements, * Disbursing loan proceeds, * Ensuring that construction loans are in balance at closing, * Negotiating loan documents and evaluating alternative solutions, * Preparing data input sheets so that loans may be booked on the proper loan system, * Analyzing title commitment with exceptions, * Requesting LaserPro documentation (when applicable), * Preparing escrow trust instructions (when applicable), * Interfacing with closing agents and customers regarding loan program requirements and the necessary preparation for closing, * Completing accurate loan files, * Acting as an authorized representative of the company, ensuring all requirements have been satisfied, including insurance, guarantee, etc. before closing/booking, * Analyzing the appropriateness of waiver requests, * Negotiating accommodations for exceptions, * Using judgment to determine acceptability of checklist requirements. **Syndications** * Participates in or leads bank group meetings to arrange loan documentation and closing requirements on syndications in which Associated CRE is Administrative Agent. **Post Closing** * Monitors post-closing deliverables and follow up. * Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. * Maintain files with sufficient documentation for third-party review/timely audits. **Learning and Development** * Maintain current awareness and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures and fully comply with the same. * At the senior level, backs up the Loan Administration Manager, providing supervision and work direction tot eh Loan Administration satff. * Upon request, assest with and/or coordinate the training of new and existing Loan Administrators. **Portfolio Administration** * **Customer** - Ensure the portfolio administration and rish management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. Provide support to CRE customers and affiliates by solving problems and answering questions exhibiting superior customer service. Research technical questions and inquiiries from RMs and administrative staff to resolve any problems and provide customer satisfaction. * **Construction Loan** - After loan is closed/booked, initiate, process and distribute monthly interest payments. **Customer Service / Teamwork** * Provides support to CRE customers and affiliates by solving problems and answering questions to ensure superior customer service. * Answer technical questions and research inquiries from lenders and administrative staff to resolve any problems and to ensure customer satisfaction. * Works in partnership with RMs as primary liaison with customers, attorneys, inspectors, and title company representatives, during all phases of financing, by keeping them apprised of the loan closing status and any issues that may exist as well as responding to inquiries in a professional and efficient manner. Be prepared to back up LA Manager as designated by manager. **Other Duties and Responsibilities** * Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Education:** * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. **Required Experience:** * 7-10 years Loan administration, construction disbursement and/or loan closing experience. **Required Experience:** * Thorough knowledge of commercial finance, law documentation, accounting and data systems. **Required Experience:** * Expert at reviewing and analyzing credit and loan documents. **Required Experience:** * Expert technical experience in the closing functions. **Required Experience:** * Expert level of knowledge in all area of real estate lending including letters of credit, borrowing base lending, multi-phased construction and multiple collateral properties. **Special Skill Requirements:** * Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize * Grammar/Spelling * Insurance Terminology **Other:** * Customer satisfaction/service skills and experience. * Organizational and prioritization skills. * Verbal, written and interpersonal skills. * Computer literate in Microsoft Office products, and the ability to quickly learn new software/systems. * Thorough knowledge of bank products, services and systems. * Analytical and accounting skills. **Job Requirements** * Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required. * Perform duties in accordance with the Vision & Values of Associated Banc-Corp. * Regular attendance is required. * Basic math and reading skills, and attention to detail. * Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, "fax" machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, typewriter, computers etc.). * Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner. * Maintain credit exception approval percentages within corporate approved guidelines
