Summary
A senior scrum master enables an RBC scrum team to run a medium-to-complex agile development process that seamlessly aligns with business and technical needs. The senior Scrum Master is a key role within an Agile delivery team as it removes any impediments that obstruct a team’s pursuit of its sprint goals and ultimately deliver a product that generates business benefits for one or several RBC lines of business.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing facilitation and coaching that enables your team to excel at agile development.
- Initiative delivery: Facilitating medium-to-high complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release
- Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives
- Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
- Actively manage risks and external dependencies drawing in team members as appropriate
- Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment
- Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master – where Scrum principles, practices and theory were diligently applied
- 5+ years of experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis or other relevant professional experience
- Project / Program delivery in Agile and/or Waterfall environment (medium-to-large scale initiatives) using influence to facilitate to outcomes
- Certified Scrum Master / Agile Practitioner
