Software Product Manager

As a Development Manager, the position’s primary responsibility is to ensure Iteris’ transportation software products are meeting the customer's needs and are being delivered successfully within schedule and budget. To do this, the Development Manager would need to make sure the software development team is working collaboratively with the latest processes and tools to be able to work as efficiently as possible. From the initial project scoping of projects to deploying the product out to customer sites, the Software Development Manager will provide oversight.

• Managing a team of SW developers, performing a full spectrum of software development, including UI/UX, middleware, system automation, and database programming
• Oversee the development and delivery of those products in an agile environment, ensuring effective solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
• Assist with internal project management related to software development as needed. Interacting with clients to gain a deep understanding of their specific challenges that can be solved by the transportation suite of software products Iteris offers
• Translation of the customer needs into product concepts and gaining consensus among the development teams and the user for scope. Turning those concepts into product requirements for the engineering teams
• Working jointly with the group managers and Business Unit Leaders to ensure proposed solutions are aligned with our strategic roadmap
• Supporting the team in responding to request for proposals and developing scopes and project cost estimation

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields.
• 5 years experience managing complex, customer-facing software products.
• 5 years experience working in a multi-team, cross-disciplinary agile development environment.
• Experienced in writing product requirements and design documents
• Experience in software architecture, design, development, deployment and customer software support

Qualifications Desired

• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills.
• Experience and knowledge of transportation/traffic engineering, civil engineering
• Scrum master
• Project management certifications
• Master's Degree in a science or technical field (CS or transportation preferred)
• Occasional travel will be required.
