Summary
The general purpose of this position is to assist in the bidding process of Nichols Institute’s hospital clients. The individual is responsible for mapping client test codes to either Nichols or Affiliate billing systems, developing pricing that supports pricing guidelines and marketing and sales objectives, and determining client profitability.
Responsibilities
* Provide analysis support to the sales function Support the Nichols Institute Hospital Business (and periodically other Business Units) directly with pricing and profitability analyses with an emphasis on retaining profitable customers and gaining new ones. Perform test code mapping, which may include any combination of client, Nichols Institute San Juan Capistrano and Chantilly, QBS, Affiliate lab decentralized sites, and competitors. Support Corporate and the Hospital Business with pricing analysis regarding Group Purchasing Organizations, Managed Care Accounts, and other National Accounts regarding Nichols Institute as needed. Develop and provide sales-related information to the Account Analysts at the Business Units, indirectly supporting their pricing and profitability efforts. Maintain Nichols Institute account profitability models and act as primary resource for the information contained therein. Support Commercial Finance in the monthly calculation of all Group Purchasing Organization administrative fee payments as it related to Nichols. * Provide analysis support to the finance function: Support the Controller on all analysis and administrative activities relating to Nichols Institute revenues. Provide analytical support for special projects or other assignments at the Controller’s request. Complete all pricing proposal support activities accurately and assist the account representative in coordinating changes with the billing department. Encourage and support efforts by the account representatives to review and revise old pricing. * Due to the variety of duties and responsibilities and the wide array of individual seeking analytical support (often with customer-driven deadlines), required working hours may not always conform to a typical work week.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Marketing (MBA preferred, but not required) * Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, revenue or profitability analysis. * Experience in the medical laboratory industry is required. This may include either Finance or Laboratory experience, and must include familiarity with medical testing terminologies. * Proficient in Excel problem solving skills; analytical ability; planning and organization skills (including the ability to manage multiple priorities of multiple customers while exhibiting flexibility and teamwork); exceptional communication skills (needed to convey the quantitative results of analyses to users at all levels of the BU and Sales organizations); and the ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
