Summary
The **Business Financial Analyst**, reporting to the Strategic and Financial Planning Manager, will support the development and sustainment of the Connected Vehicle Technologies’ (CVT) products and business ventures focusing on profit and cost analysis and the support of future product development by providing assessments of burgeoning telematics products and services. This position is responsible for the maintenance of CVT business models which track and forecast the financial contribution of each CVT product to the Enterprise. The team member in this role will monitor key objectives, measurements and goals for CVT by maintaining and business models and completing ad hoc analysis. The ideal candidate will have an interest in emerging technologies (cellular, satellite, consumer electronics, etc.), their applications and the financials required to support and develop those services and hardware. He/she will also have an understanding of consumer, economic and financing trends that might influence automotive product strategy.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop expert knowledge of the CVT business models including driving assumptions and calculations * Assess and provide enhancements, updates, kaizen opportunities to the CVT business models where and when it is needed to improve its accuracy * Provide business model reporting: monthly, quarterly and based upon created scenarios * Run business model scenarios; forecasting future profit/loss and project customer engagement of new product/service * Conduct ad hoc financial analysis of TMS and competitor connected vehicle technologies
Ideal Candidate
* Deep understanding of business modeling; 2+ years of experience * BS/BA or MBA focusing on finance, accounting, economics or equivalent experience * Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to think strategically and formulate concrete recommendations/action plans * Interest in emerging technologies (cellular, satellite, consumer electronics, etc.) and their applications * Understanding of consumer, economic and financing trends that might influence automotive product strategy * Must be detail oriented, possess superior communication skills and have excellent time management skills * Enthusiastic self-starter with ability to tackle multiple projects simultaneously * Demonstrated leadership skills in a team-oriented environment * Strong Microsoft Office Skills: in particular Excel and Power Point **Preferred** **A successful candidate may have:** * 1+ years of product pricing experience * 1+ years of corporate finance experience and familiarity with the following software applications: PeopleSoft and Hyperion Essbase
