Responsibilities
**Position Purpose:** To manage and lead the Leasing Department in the superior execution of all its efforts, to look forward in staffing and leading the Leasing Department to provide an excellent level of service to our clients and investors, to anticipate the demands on the department and plan accordingly; and to actively participate with senior management in driving overall performance of the company. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Responsible for and lead the leasing of all shopping centers currently being operated or developed. * Responsible for the management, training and development of the Leasing team. * Accountable for building and maintaining strong and warm working relationships between Leasing Team members and other teams at Primestor. * Responsible for management of any external brokerage teams involved with leasing. * Responsible for the management of legal teams working on leases for new and existing developments. * Responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans for new and existing developments. **Additional Responsibilities:** * Responsible for working closely with Asset Manager in the identification of value opportunities in existing portfolio. * Key role in working with Development Team to plan and maximize value of new developments. * Final accountability for national and regional tenant relations. * Responsible for Leasing Department approval, negotiation and coordination in regards to the construction exhibits with the Development Department * Management of all commissions paid to both internal and external brokers. * Accountable for legal document creation and storage for lease agreements, amendments and assignments.
Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience leading the negotiation of letters of intent and leases(a minimum of 5 in the last 2 years) with national anchor and junior anchor retail tenants. * A deep understanding of the shopping center and retail real estate industry. * Complete comfort with the commercial leasing process, technical components of the lease and LOI. * Confidence in consultative selling skills and the ability to apply them every day with tenants and to teach and develop them with the Primestor Leasing Team. * The energy to defeat prejudice in urban leasing, particularly in minority communities. * The ability to recruit, train and manage a department which can excel at achieving the leasing strategies of a leading retail developer/ manager. * To interact and facilitate trust and co-stewardship with other department heads to achieve our common objectives. * A willingness to travel to sites/projects/conferences which may require overnight stays.
