Responsibilities
* BioMed Realty, with its trusted expertise and valuable relationships, delivers optimal real estate solutions for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, scientific research institutions, government agencies and other entities involved in the life science industry. BioMed Realty owns or has interests in properties comprising approximately18 million rentable square feet. * We are looking for an experienced Property Manager to join our New York area team. The successful candidate will oversee property management, maintenance and construction activities for designated properties in the BioMed Realty portfolio. Responsibilities: - Responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating property management activities associated with commercial and lab tenants; - In conjunction with the Facilities department, conducting inspections of facilities and equipment to determine need and extent of service equipment and personnel required; - Working with leasing brokers to market and lease space in the portfolio; - Supervising APM’s and administrative support staff, including hiring, development and training; conducting site inspections to assess the physical condition of portfolio assets, monitor competition and market conditions, and develop and implement action plans; - Overseeing preparation of budgets, monthly accruals, quarterly variances, timelines, and plans to meet asset - Management and accounting requirements; - Reviewing tenant leases to ensure tenants are following all aspects of their lease requirements.
Ideal Candidate
- Five plus years’ experience in commercial real estate management; - BA/BS in business or related field required; - CPM or RPA certification strongly preferred; experience analyzing and interpreting operating budgets, leases and related documents; - Hands-on understanding of property management systems and processes; - Experience managing staff and developing effective working relationships with vendors, contractors and tenants; - Organized and task oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities; - Detail oriented with the ability to convey information orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner; - Computer literate including proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook; MRI experience a plus.
