PPNorCalis currently seeking a full-timeStaff Accountantat the Concord Administration Office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands on accounting experience.
- Providing preparation and maintenance of detailed schedules;
- Controlling and posting activity in General Ledger system conforming to GAAP analysis
- Reporting of financial statements and maintains Balance Sheet supporting documents.
- Collection and summarization of budget data; prepares and files federal, state, and locally required reports and provides support to the other members of the accounting and finance team as needed.
- Performs monthly and annual reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts for all funds and cash accounts.
- Manages and directs the processing of month-end close through the preparation & coordination of all journals for the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; produces timely, monthly operating statements, balance sheet, and trial balances for all departments as well as other financial statements as required.
- Maintains supporting schedules for all Balance Sheet accounts and reconciles them to the General Ledger on a monthly basis.
- Prepares bank accounts reconciliations.
- Cooperates and assists in the process improvement initiatives.
- Cooperates and assists auditors in matters relating to regular audits of the books or special audits as required by funding agencies.
- Assists with the development of annual budgets, including development of budget spreadsheets, analysis of costs, and development of projections for revenue and costs.
- Works with and assists Senior VP of Finance & Administration, Controller, Director of FP&A; and Accounting Manager on special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university;3-5 years hands on experience in accounting operations, month-end closing processing and overall functioning within an accounting department environment and operation; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of accounting, internet, payroll systems, spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Experience with Great Plains Accounting program highly desirable.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain databases, keep complex records and files and analyze financial data.
- Ability to prioritize work; manage shifting and multiple projects/priorities; and meet changing deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with wide variety of personalities and interact with others professionally.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), decision-making, time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to sit and concentrate for extended periods of time.
- Acceptance and application of the confidential nature of the position.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
- Experience with 10 key and computers required.
