Summary
s a Project Manager, you will primarily be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of new and/or revised processes and systems that support or impact our accounting business functions. The intent of this role is to enhance the performance of the accounting department and provide timely, strategic information for us as an organization. In addition, you will indirectly manage accounting employees necessary to being involved in the processes and systems that are being implemented and developed.
Responsibilities
* Maintain relationships for all finance department software vendors * Reconcile monthly feeds to the EAS general ledger * Perform EAS maintenance, including new product and process development initiatives that have interface capabilities with the general ledger * Update and maintain business continuity plans for finance * Upgrade all finance software, including testing, when necessary * Undertake and carry out company-wide projects which involve our finance department * Assist our finance team members with developing desktop procedures, determining process improvement areas, implementing project specifications and coordinating projects with our IT business analysts * Coordinate and develop requests or proposals from software vendors in order to meet the needs of our finance team * Supervise your team and make recommendations regarding hiring and compensation
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four year college or university preferred; Master’s degree strongly desired * At least 7 years of successful management in the insurance industry or project management in a financial services organization * Prior exposure to/familiarity with EAS, Biznet, payroll software, Investment Accounting System, tax provision and tax return software, fixed asset software, bank rating software, URS, word processors, spreadsheets, etc. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, technical data, and state governmental regulations * Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication and business sense * Above average critical thinking, analytical and mathematical orientation
