Summary
Drive enhanced inventory results throughout the Petco network through demand forecasting and analysis of proactive assortment, promotion, vendor and inventory management. Utilize the appropriate systems, tools and processes to drive the most efficient inventory management to support business and customer goals.
Responsibilities
**Inventory Management** * Drive sku level replenishment and allocation objectives * Directly accountable for in-stock levels across all banners. * Manage store/sku baseline and causal unit demand forecasts. * Proactively manage inventory replenishment and allocation strategies to support promotional, financial, assortment/transition and other business goals. * Drive the identification and resolution of inventory opportunities within the Petco network that drives greater business profitability and/or customer results. * Accountable for driving established operational and service goals including in-stock, inventory budget, inventory turnover, and IMROI. * Drive appropriate in-stock levels into store to support sku base, promotional and seasonality trends. * Collaborate with partners to define sku entrance and exit strategies and execute appropriately. * Perform root cause analysis to promote greater efficiencies and results in inventory management. * Influence business results through cross-functional development of strategies to achieve SBU goals and objectives. **Partnership** * Interact professionally and effectively through strong verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with an emphasis on company and customer interests. * Drive and build cross-functional relationships. * Manage and drive collaborative relationships with internal and external partners. * Demonstrate initiative to work independently and in cross functional teams (for example – merchandising, logistics, pricing, marketing and vendor compliance). * Ability to think strategically and effectively implement tactical elements to ensure goals are met. * Ability to ruthlessly prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines. **Vendor Management** * Review and analyze vendor skus to achieve inventory and financial goals. * Partner with shop team members in collaborative, planning, forecasting and replenishment meetings with vendors. **Development and Training** * Achieve and maintain required system certifications. Proactively identify and participate in opportunities to expand business, inventory and/or supply chain knowledge and expertise. Actively participate in personal development planning.
Ideal Candidate
Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related field. Proven advanced ability to use applications within Microsoft Office suite. Strong ability to extract and analyze data from databases and make appropriate recommendations is required. Two to three year’s of replenishment buying and/or store operations experience is required. Demonstrate excellent analytical, mathematical and business problem solving skills with the ability to analyze data, conduct research and solve system issues as required. Demonstrate well-developed communication, interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills due to the nature and level of interaction with peers and cross-functional teams. Ability to influence without authority. Knowledge of vendor management, financial and customer acumen.
