Summary
Responsible for leading Pentair Equipment Protection’s (EQP’s) Marketing Communications team in the development and successful implementation of all Marketing Communications strategies and tactics enabling successful achievement of business unit revenue and profitability targets.
Responsibilities
* Leads the development and manages the execution of EQP promotional strategy and tactics including; advertising, tradeshow participation, website/internet promotion, public relations, catalog / technical publications, and distributor/customer promotional programs. * Responsible for the delivery of all external messages with industry and local/national media: encourages public relations opportunities and news coverage with support of executive management. * Serves as the focal point for all outside communications-related suppliers, printers, outsource partners and freelancers. * Works closely with the Sales and Marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies and programs for distributors and key customer groups. * Works closely with Marketing and Product managers to develop and execute comprehensive product launches. * Manages the content of the corporate website and works with internal and external resources as needed to attain design objectives and deliver appropriate messaging. * Works closely with corporate marketing leadership to ensure EQP is represented well and coordinated with Pentair’s overall corporate messaging strategies. * Develops (with Marketing) and manages N. American MarCom budget, providing regular reports to platform leadership * Manage, coach, and provide work direction to employees and contractors to maximize productivity and teamwork. * Set and communicate goals in support of corporate strategic imperatives/goals * Utilize corporate performance management process to provide timely feedback and recognition to encourage individuals’ growth and motivation * Foster a collaborative team environment with open communication, identifying problems and establishing resolutions. * Promote knowledge sharing to strengthen technical depth of staff, ensure responsive operational support, and enable process improvements Determine staffing needs and schedules in support of strategic plans. * Acts as key member of marketing management team and actively contributes to strategic planning, budgeting, identifying new technology to leverage, and drive for continuous improvement in department processes consistent with lean principles. * May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:** * Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications or Business, MBA preferred. * Minimum 10+ years Marketing Communications experience in business-to-business environment including 8+ years’ experience leading a Marketing Communications team and/or significant project direction required. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:** * Knowledge of process improvement concepts and methods along with the flexibility and adaptability to accept, support, and deploy new processes in a changing business environment. * Knowledge and experience in sales and marketing processes. * Knowledge of channel marketing. * Knowledge in marketing automation a plus * Knowledge in lead generation, nurturing and CRM technologies. * Current knowledge of web / digital trends and opportunities-- including social media and mobile technologies- appropriate for B2B organizations. * Knowledge in metrics reporting to reflect ROI utilizing dashboards. * Knowledge in content management tools to produce on-line deliverables is a plus * Demonstrated Project Management skills to: * Develop realistic plans, action steps, and timetables for projects and assignments. * Coordinate work with other groups (other depts. and agencies/contractors, peers). * Handle multiple demands and competing priorities. * Track and prioritize projects, documenting projects via an established traffic report. * Keep others up to date with information. * Skill to create and implement plans aligned with the division’s strategic vision. * Skilled at effective communications at both technical and leadership levels. Skills must include good interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills, and ability to understand information and ideas as presented. * Skill in developing and delivering effective presentations. * Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with business partners. * Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize time/workload and delegate work in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines. * Ability to effectively coach and foster staff growth and development. * Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances; must be able to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
