Responsibilities
* Provide financial support for assigned Pactiv reporting locations. * Become an active member of plant leadership team (PLT) and help drive operational excellence and expected financial results. * Apply accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to the solutions of problems. * Provides technical advice and services to operating managers. * Play a primary role in the development and measurement of key performance goals, while also supporting actionable countermeasure development (be a vital player in the PDCA process). * Identify problem areas through the development and enforcement of internal controls and adherence to corporate policies and procedures. * Responsible for the proper accounting treatment of financial transactions. * Responsible for coordinating separate or specialized accounting treatment and reporting (e.g., cost accounting using standard cost, process cost, and financial statements & reports) for different senior management and/or external customers. * Provide audit support for the various annual physical inventories (fixed asset, raw, WIP, Non-poly, finished goods, MRO, etc.). * Ensures effective controls are in place and SOX requirements are met. Ensure product standard costs are accurate and reflect current plant operating costs. * Complete month-end closing process (journal entries, etc.) which also includes variance commentary for PY/Target vs, CM, YTD, and QTR. * Maintain all necessary documentation for job and system processes. * Development of annual financial operating plans through the use of financial modeling and analysis. * Complete monthly and/or full year forecasts, as required. * Support/Lead financial projects as assigned by Operations Controller. * Complete ad hoc financial modeling and analysis, as required. * Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. * Actively Promote Lean Principles - Be a participant in continuous improvement efforts - Help identify, communicate, and eliminate waste focusing both in the manufacturing and accounting areas. * Adhere to Pactiv standard work.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and 4-7 years of related Manufacturing experience. * CPA and/or MBA preferred. * Experience with large, automated financial systems (Preferably SAP) along with Strong PC skills. * High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially direct experience with financial modeling utilizing Excel. * Demonstrate usage or understanding of manufacturing standard costing and/or standard costing models. * Solid communication skills at all levels within an organization and must have strong analytical skills. * Flexible schedule, especially around critical reporting times.
