Summary
The Cost Accounting Manager is reponsible for leading the PACCAR Parts North American Cost Accounting Team in performing a wide range of accounting functions for the truck after market organization with emphasis on cost accounting, inventory control/reporting, and month-end closing. The scope includes US, Canada and Mexico.
Responsibilities
* Supervise, mentor and develop a staff of 5 located at the Division Offices. * Manage the day-to-day and month-end activities of the Cost Accounting team to ensure the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful financial information. This includes US, Canada and Mexico consolidated financial information. * Analyze and review reserves and other accounts to ensure balances reflect requirements appropriately * Lead continuous process improvement efforts in Cost Accounting. * Assists in the coordination of quarterly and year-end 10Q, 10K and tax schedules. Also provides support for internal and external auditors. * Work as a business partner with Sales, Marketing and Operations to prepare the sales/margin forecast and drive profitable growth for PPD. * Maintains effective communication as a member of the management team.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors degree in Accounting required * CPA/MBA preferred * 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility * Cost accounting related experience * Demonstrated supervisory and strong leadership experience * Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end * Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail with a "big picture" focus * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills * Requires strong PC skills with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint * Must be able to travel periodically within the US and internationally * Understanding of US GAAP * Ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team
