Director of Financial Reporting

The Director of Financial Reporting is responsible for external financial reporting and control compliance, functions provided by the former parent company, as well as to maintain oversight of various evolving internal reporting requirements. The role will be responsible for developing processes to prepare financial information in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“US GAAP”) for external use and for identifying and interpreting the needs for financial information for senior executives, the BOD and management.

* Responsible for the aggregation and analysis of externally reported financial results provided by the general ledger accounting function ensuring compliance with US GAAP; includes drafting necessary narrative analysis and disclosures * Applies critical thinking utilizing knowledge of the business to prepare various financial analyses for internal use including variance analysis to be used for both management of the business and confirmation of the accuracy of the results presented * Acts as expert resource in communicating and clarifying monthly, quarterly and annual results to business leaders, direct management and management of various other departments * Manages and develops direct reports and effectively uses people resources to meet deadlines and provide accurate, relevant, and timely internal and external deliverables * Identifies and addresses control gaps to ensure controls are in place to verify financial results are accurate and consistent in all areas presented internally and externally * Leads ERP and other Financial Reporting implementations and enhancements, working closely with IT and Finance Management to achieve expected results * Owns existing policies and identifies and drafts needed new accounting policies to ensure GAAP compliance and appropriate business practices under the Company’s governance structure * Coordinates with internal parties and external auditors to facilitate timely review of external financial statements * Identifies and researches technical accounting issues for new and proposed management initiatives and new accounting standards; documents and presents Company’s position on complex accounting topics * Other projects as assigned, including review of potential acquisitions and financing activities

**Education & Experience** * Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting (preferred) or Finance (if demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP exists) * CPA Required * 10+ years of related work experience at a public accounting firm (Big 4 firm preferred) and/or a publicly-held corporation in a role heavily involved with financial reporting and analysis for a combined similar duration * Expert working knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) * Experience with ERP Systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** * Ability to effectively review financial results and use analytical skills to identify inaccurate or inconsistent financial information as well as trends that can be used to add value to the business * Excellent written communications skills and attention to detail * Ability to identify, research and resolve technical accounting and internal control issues * Ability to lead and develop team members and motivate others to achieve collaborative results
