Summary
The Sr Payroll Administrator contributes to Redbox’s success by ensuring payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner. This role manages the day to day relationship with our outsourced payroll vendor. This role will ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and all audit and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
* Manages the day to day relationship with our outsourced payroll vendor as well as overall process efficiencies and effectiveness * Ensures the vendor processes each payroll in an accurate timely manner, including, but not limited to the following: * Monitors, audits, validate and approves payroll each pay period * Audits data inputs for accuracy and ensures corrections are resolved in a timely manner * Reviews reports for accuracy and submits results to manager for sign off to ensure accuracy and compliance with all audit controls including but not limited to SOX controls * Perform periodic/quarter-end/year-end processing and monthly payroll to G/L reconciliations * Manages the handoff to the vendor for setting up and processing of garnishments, child supports, levies in an accurate and timely manner * Responsible for processing payroll for small population of Puerto Rico employees * Single point of contact for vendor and other internal customers for payroll * Responsible for administering Kronos time and attendance module, including updating employees’ time on request and following up with managers for approval of hourly employees’ time * Responds to questions and requests timely and accurately, with a focus on creating sustainable process solutions * Monitor tax regulations, research tax inquiries and monitor payroll tax activities to ensure accuracy. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring vendor accurately processes the following: * Payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels for the company and employees * Preparation of tax documents, returns and amendments, W-2 forms * Reconciliation, third party sick pay reporting * Setting up and verifying new tax jurisdictions * Participate in payroll system updates and implementation, providing feedback, research, verification and testing * Provide support and testing for internal and external audits
Ideal Candidate
**Education & Experience** * Requires 5+ years’ experience with all aspects of processing payroll for a multi-state distributed workforce, including Puerto Rico * Requires experience partnering with a third party payroll service * Requires experience with payroll reporting tools and HRIS systems * Requires recent experience with ADP, ADP Workforce Now preferred * Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred * Kronos experience strongly preferred **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** * Possess strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax laws/resources and how to navigate government tax agencies * Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment * Exceptional attention to detail * Ability to develop and adhere to detailed processes * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
