The Payroll Administrator will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple locations. This position will provide subject matter expertise to enable accurate and efficient execution of the payroll process.
- Performs all activities necessary to process one or more payrolls for approximately 300 employees, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, vendors and business partners
- Manage relationship with outside services payroll providers
- Manage compliance with federal, state and local laws, and address regulatory inquiries
- Manage quarterly and year-end payroll reporting compliance including review of quarterly and annual tax returns and preparation of annual W-2 issuance
- Coordinate with human resources department on benefit and payroll related items such as the processing and reporting of vacation, 401K, stock option and FSA activity
- Evaluate existing payroll processes and systems and work with appropriate departments to implement system upgrades and process improvements
- Assist with special projects as requested including annual audits (payroll specific)
- Collate information for payroll, create and produce the necessary reports for Finance to reconcile payroll to the General Ledger
- Work on special projects as assigned while balancing day-to-day workload
- BS/BA degree in related discipline; or, equivalent combination of education and experience
- Typically requires 3 to 5 years of payroll experience
- Experience with timeclocks/time systems preferred
- CPP designation preferred
- Experience servicing multiple sites (multiple states) and comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices and related governmental regulations
- High level of discretion when working with sensitive data and/or projects
- Strong organizational and administrative skills are critical
- Intermediate Excel capabilities
- Must be results-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment as well as participate in cross-functional teams
- Incredible attention to detail is critical

Experience processing payroll within Ultimate Software or similar type of HRIS
