Summary

Project Engineer needed for a Contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical success of the project output, within the constraints of the allocated budget and schedule.
  • The PE role is technical management and the coordination of various engineering disciplines to achieve compliance with customer technical requirements.
  • The PE works in conjunction with Program Management and Functional Engineering Managers to achieve project success.
  • Day to day management of the technical aspects of the project, including cross-functional decision making and risk management activities.
  • Management of interpersonal relationships within the project team.
  • Definition of task scope and job cost estimation.
  • Meet Engineering scheduled milestone goals.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure that product elements meet requirements.
  • Keep costs within dictated budget, provide oversight of ETC/EAC activities and identify cost growth and reasons for growth.
  • Evaluate ongoing project risk and risk mitigation plans
  • Manage and track task/document list - item completion and day to day status
  • Report project status
  • In conjunction with Program Management, Provide Earned Value tracking of Engineering Tasks
  • Primary technical customer interface.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Preferred).
  • Masters in Engineering, Engineering Management, Business Management or Leadership Development preferred.
  • Familiarity with program management techniques including Earned Value
  • Familiarity with managing complex engineering projects
  • Ability to successfully manage large complex engineering programs
  • Ability to manage interpersonal relationships within the project team
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide accurate project hour and schedule estimates
  • Ability to provide accurate project status
  • Ability to communicate with customers.
  • This is an eleven (11) month contract, paying $28.84 per hour.
