Responsibilities
* Lead underwriting effort, prepare financial models including detailed cash flow, FFO, and return analyses * Manage acquisitions due diligence, including coordination and oversight of third-party due diligence * Prepare investment memorandums and presentation materials * Brief members of the executive team on proposed acquisitions, including the presentation of financial analyses and the assessment of opportunity, financial projections, and risk exposure. * Work closely with acquisitions, asset management, and accounting teams to maintain efficient and effective work processes and communication * Assist with the structuring and negotiating of real estate transactions * Assist in the closing of transactions * Perform property and market research and maintain current industry knowledge for future reference and track competitor profiles and methods * Maintain database to track brokers, developers, and other sources of potential transactions including deal summary log of both of listed deals and closed deals * Maintain and report information that describes and defines the market environment, opportunities, activities by others who would be considered our ‘peer’ group. * Participate in after-action review and analyses of acquisitions, to include profitability, dispositions, future related acquisitions, and lessons learned which may be applicable to future acquisitions activity.
Ideal Candidate
* The qualified candidate will have three (3) or more years of experience in real estate and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and/or an MBA with a concentration in Finance or Real Estate. * Individuals will need strong analytical, written and oral communication skills. * Successful candidates will take proactive rather than passive approach to problem solving. * Position requires proficient knowledge of Argus, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of financial discounted cash flow models. * Overall the candidate must have the desire to solve problems, work autonomously, learn new financial concepts and be comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
