Summary
Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Director of Planning, this individual will be responsible for developing and managing the demand forecast resulting in consistent and best in class in-stock levels, forecast accuracy and maximized sales performance. This role owns and manages the overall demand signal, building the relationship within the Sales team and managing the demand planning deliverables with the SF Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
* Owner of Demand Planning function within method * Drive the development, execution and communication of demand plans and strategies; analyze sales and inventory performance at the dept/category/sku level to capitalize on unique sales trends * Develop and partner monthly S&OP meeting and report that provide clarity of forecast, business actions and trends, and provide the foundation for strategic discussion to drive the business * Create and develop partnership with field Sales team to enable efficient and effective communication with forecast and trend * Work internally with POD's, Brand Experience, NPD, Customer Service, Logistics and cross functional groups in strategic business driving activities * Create and analyze forecast trend for promotional activity and new launches; monitor past and future trends to assess opportunity and risk * Maintain seamless communication with Sales, GM's, Manufacturing, Operations and Logistics * Provide direction to Supply Chain on forecast changes and variances; create open line of communication and ensure proactive and nimble communication and strategies * Develop and manage departmental reporting structure in terms of analysis, requirements and timing * Manage the demand planning deliverables to ensure integrity and comprehensiveness of the demand plan; Accountable for ongoing improvement in forecast accuracy (target setting, process improvement, systems) * Work reception once a month * we are not joking. at method, everyone in San Francisco takes a spin as receptionist. costumes welcome.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be maniacally focused, organized and detail oriented with applicable experience at a fast-paced consumer packaged goods company. We're looking for someone who's flexible, nimble, doesn't have an ego and is ok with getting down and dirty … a positive outlook and sense of humor will serve you well. * 5-10 years Demand Planning background in applicable industry * Bachelor's degree preferred * Joint S&OP implementation experience with developed retailer * Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities * Communicates well at all levels of the organization * Experience working with and leading cross functional Sales team to drive and guide demand planning functions * Proven leadership skills to drive process initiatives and improvements across all functional areas * Proven ability to create cross functional partnership; guide a group to decision and execution * Experience with forecasting and ERP systems - Syspro, John Galt a plus * Strong project management and organizational skills, outstanding communicator * Ability to constantly ladder up day-to-day tactics to a broader customer strategy * Ability to prioritize and manage the department workload * Ability to stay cool and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
