Summary
This position reports to the Director, Operations Finance. Responsible for analyzing year over year cost improvement and highlighting areas of opportunity across the manufacturing network. The Manager, Operations Finance plays a key role in the evaluation of intercompany pricing, SCA results, raw and packaging purchase price variances, capital spending, and co-pack manufacturing. This position also plays a critical role in the development of Operations strategies and has significant interaction with McCain Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales. Position can be located in our Lisle, Toronto or Florenceville office.
Responsibilities
* Analysis of product costs (both Plant and PPV), including year over year changes * Develop Intercompany pricing and monitor/track monthly Manufacturing variances * Lead the processes for the accurate development of cost and feasibility assessments for new or revised products and capabilities for international markets * Develop and implement systems enhancements or tools that improve the effectiveness of the Operations Finance group * Assist in margin assessments and sku rationalization initiatives (from an Operations perspective) * Support computation of formulation and R&D driven savings changes * Support new product business propositions * Review and monitor capital spending; assess financial return on profit improvement projects * Identify and participate in the resolution of potential manufacturing cost variance problems or opportunities with NA Operations * Leading role in the development of annual budget for ISC Finance * Develop and report periodic manufacturing cost forecasts and “what-if” scenarios as required to support effective management of NA Operations * Involved in adhoc projects and initiatives across the Supply Chain * Work with plants to ensure adequate and proper internal controls * Key role in close and the monthly plant financial reviews
Ideal Candidate
* B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance, or significant relevant work experience * CPA or CMA preferred * 7+ years of manufacturing experience preferred consumer products or food experience a definite plus * Solid applied understanding of cost management and accounting systems * Solid understanding of P&L’s, margins and appropriate financial metrics * Strong technical, analytical and systems skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) * Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously * Must be able to investigate complex issues and to conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems * Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment * Must be self-motivated, independent thinker, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, project a professional image and interact effectively with all levels and functions within the organization
