Summary
This individual will be responsible for all aspects of marketing for customers in the QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) Segments, including development of appropriate marketing strategies (segment and customer), planning and tracking, presentation development, and custom product opportunity identification.
Responsibilities
* Rapidly become expert on QSR Segments. Monitor industry trends, consumers and competitive action to quickly respond to competitive threats or opportunities. * Create McCain’s value proposition and strategy for assigned QSR Segments. * Develop and assist in execution of appropriate customer specific strategies and tactics to maximize profitable sales of the McCain portfolio of products. This would include but not be limited to: use of existing and new customer research, development of promotions, LTO’s, staff incentives, identification of custom and segment-specific product opportunities, and selling tools, utilization of culinary and R&D resources. * Prioritize customer and Segment opportunities with a keen focus on commercial viability and ROI. * Collaborate with Marketing peers and the broader organization to ensure linkage between strategies/customer plans and strive to build awareness and focus for QSR Segments. * Effectively utilize various research sources (primary and secondary) as well as first-hand experience to unlock key insights and opportunities for customers/Segments. * Track Segment performance. Evaluate the performance of marketing initiatives to develop best practices and optimize ROI. * Develop and manage spending budget. * Partner with Sales to provide product, Segment or market expertise as needed to facilitate their success within their customer base and develop actionable Customer Account Plans. * When required, organize and lead cross-functional teams to support specific initiatives/projects. Maintain relationships with internal and external functions to successfully execute plans. * Effectively establish and develop customer relationships to ensure strategic alignment and the proactive delivery of business building product/ marketing solutions. * Develop and deliver customer presentations. Travel to customer headquarters and regional events required. (Approx. 25-30% travel at times.)
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years of foodservice marketing experience, ideally with focus on National and Regional Chain restaurant accounts. Relevant manufacturer marketing experience and segment insight will be a significant advantage. * The successful candidate will need to possess the ability to rapidly understand the Segment, McCain’s opportunities and top customers. The candidate will then quickly convert that insight to sustainable strategies and action plans for growth. * Must be self-starter and independent thinker with ability to quickly react to dynamic and sometimes ambiguous situations. * Entrepreneurial approach to driving new business development with a strong results-driven commercial orientation. * Excellent written and oral communication skills (including strong presentation skills), analytical ability, independent decision making and business vision – as well as a strong understanding of the marketing skills needed to identify, prioritize, understand and target market to both to a broad Segment as well as specific customers within the Segment. * Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task against several complex projects at one time. * Understanding of foodservice industry market research tools and data sources (NPD, Datassentials, Technomic, etc.). This includes the demonstrated ability to convert quantitative and qualitative research/information into actionable insights and customer solutions. * Thorough understanding of the product development/commercialization process. * Proficiency with PC applications in the areas of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Excellent Power Point skills also necessary. * Highly collaborative with strong team orientation. * Degree required, MBA preferred.
