Summary
We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner with 4 to 6 years experience to join the Marsh Corporate Finance team. This is a highly visible position with significant exposure to senior management. The right fit for the role is a smart, proactive, self-starter with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. Responsibilities
The role is with a team that works closely with the Chief Financial Officer of Marsh who also serves as CFO of Risk and Insurance Services (RIS) of Marsh & McLennan Companies. This role is strategic and facilitative; one that requires a combination of analysis and project management, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. You will collaborate with regional finance teams delivering important communications ensuring alignment on key priorities. Collaboration across function and geography is vital to success as you will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. You will coordinate and complete projects ranging from written products to PowerPoint presentations to Excel analysis. * Analyze current and historical financial performance to develop key trends for senior leadership. * Provide thoughtful commentary and analysis as support for the quarterly earnings call; develop external speaking points for the Marsh CEO in advance of quarterly earnings calls. * Coordinate and support the preparation of materials for Marsh’s Executive Committee and Operating Committee meetings and off-sites. * Prepare financial analysis for monthly and quarterly close. * Define and develop key metrics to assist management in the evaluation of the business performance. * Work closely with the CFO to drive key initiatives across the organization, including: business deep-dives, key leadership presentations and other special projects. * Conduct analysis of the industry and competitive landscape. * Coordinate and train regional finance teams through the budget process.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is self-sufficient and has experience performing financial analysis and modeling; previous Corporate Finance experience a plus but not required. The candidate must be comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders and must be able to effectively communicate financial results and analysis outputs to executive level audiences. Additional responsibilities will include evaluating investment opportunities, performing industry analysis, managing the Strategic Plan and Budget processes, and overseeing the delivery of monthly and quarterly business performance reports. * 4-6 years of experience in a corporate environment. Corporate Finance or Investment Banking or Consulting background preferred. * Independent, self-starter able to work at a face pace and under pressure. * Strong financial/analytical skills and creative problem solver. * Experience managing demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited resources or information. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of constituents. * Strong business acumen and analytical mindset. * Very high standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
