Responsibilities
* Provide analytical support (financial modeling, valuation, sensitivity analysis and preparation of internal and external presentations) for corporate finance activities including M&A, debt financings and management reporting activities. * Develop, maintain and/or review complex financial models to support decision making for existing portfolio of assets and future investments. * Work closely with business units, tax, accounting, M&A, various technical teams and advisors to prepare and/or review detailed forecast of profit and loss, cash flows and balance sheets. * Responsible for ensuring that all assumptions and modeling are appropriate and reasonable, while ensuring that the model accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the key project documents. * Analyze alternative financing packages and support execution of debt and equity financings. Where appropriate, interface with financial advisors, lenders and credit agencies. * Assist in evaluation of a variety of strategic business and financial decisions and preparation of recommendations for senior management. * Assist in providing regular updates of key corporate valuation metrics including performing financial analysis to determine present and future financial performance. * Complete ad-hoc projects and create reports as needed * Work in high-pressure dynamic environment with aggressive multiple deadlines. * May require extended hours and need to travel.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or closely related field. MBA or CFA strongly preferred. * Zero (0) to Two (2) or more years of experience in Energy Sector-related financial modeling at a brokerage, investment/ commercial bank or utility/independent power producer strongly preferred. * Strong quantitative and modeling skills with a finance or statistical background needed; knowledge of GAAP principles, tax rules, electricity pricing fundamentals very valuable. * Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, fast-paced, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints. * Aggressive self-starter with strong attention to detail and proven analytical skills. * Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. * Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an open office team setting and matrix organization.
