Summary
The position will be focused primarily on benefit plan administration and operations with some analytics. The individual in this role is a Senior benefits technical HR professional. An individual contributor with solid technical knowledge in their assigned area and capable of completing technically complicated tasks and analyses within established guidelines. The role reports into the Global Pensions business unit.
Responsibilities
* Fully understand plan documents and can leverage this knowledge in resolving moderately complex issues and problems. * Apply and explain rules and regulations. * Teir 2 customer service issue and appeals related to retirement plans. * Perform a variety of regular and recurring human resources functions requiring analysis and application of discretion and independent judgment. For example, work with vendors on resolving highly complex issues not clearly accounted for by plan documents. * Handle financial transactions in connection with retirement plans and related Trusts * Conduct needed analysis. * Prepare management reports, such as vendor-management reports. **Key Responsibilities** * Research moderately complex issues. * Collect, analyze data and provide recommendations on issues such as ERISA appeals. * Document procedures, maintain up to date, accurate procedure manuals and ensure Company policies and procedures are followed appropriately. * Manage day to day issues, such as with assigned vendor. * Liaise with various internal departments on customer service and other projects. * Developing ability to diagnose client needs and collect all the necessary data. * Assist with managing annual processes, such as annaul ERISA audits, PBGC filings. * Provide input into budget process and preparation of benefits financials. * Other responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* B.S./B.A. in HR or related field preferred. Incumbents typically have 3 to 4 years of related experience. * Strong knowledge of HR principles, policies and legislation affecting own area of specialization. * Ability to apply understanding of company, federal and state requirements to complex human resources functions. * Ability to analyze complex problems and develop strategies for resolution. * Working knowledge of HR-specific software systems, electronic spreadsheets and databases. * Demonstrate initiative in achieving individual and team objectives. * Maintain a positive, achievement-oriented attitude and influence others to do the same. * Demonstrate competence, high ethical standards and personal integrity. * Show initiative in informal mentoring of peers and junior associates. * Effective writing and written communication skills.
