IT Systems Engineer Internship - Summer 2016

The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies has always lived up to its name by being one step ahead of the insurance industry, and finding new and affordable insurance solutions. We began in 1937 with the first drive-in claims office, became the first to introduce reduced rates for low-risk drivers, and then changed the insurance shopping experience by offering comparison rates on the Web.

This internship gives you the chance to further develop your technical and communication skills by handling a wide range of responsibilities, maintaining a high level attention to detail and working in a 24X7 environment. You’ll participate in the planning and execution of Enterprise-wide projects with our award-winning IT group, known for our innovative approach to technology. You’ll also work closely with an experienced mentor, who will guide you through your development. This is a full time, paid internship.

As a Systems Engineer Intern, you’ll get hands on experience by working closely with vendors and internal IT partners to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. You’ll ensure the health and 100% availability of our systems by resolving any outages in our voice and data network, service, client PC and mainframe environments.

* Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Network and Systems Administration, Information Science and Technology, Information and Telecommunications Systems, Management Information Systems, or related IT major * Effective teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, analytical and customer service skills * Ability to relay technical information to non-technical people * Demonstrated leadership capabilities * Cumulative GPA of 3.0 (preferred)
