Summary
Develop program to validate the accuracy and consistency of information in the Third-Party Risk Management Program.
Responsibilities
* Develop program that includes quality assurance and quality control reviews during all phases in the Third-Party Risk Management Program including: service risk assessments, due diligence questionnaires, ongoing monitoring and contracting activities. * Identify, monitor and escalate areas of non-compliance or inaccuracy, ensuring appropriate documentation and communicate these findings to the business lines, vendors and senior management, as appropriate. * Validate and monitor gaps identified during reviews and identify a necessary course of action. Monitor outstanding gaps through remediation. * As needed, contribute to the enhancement of the Third-Party Risk Management Program based on industry and regulatory expectations. * Enhance policy, process, workflows and procedures as necessary, to improve efficiency and mitigate risk. * Stay current with all vendor and third-party risk management regulatory requirements and changes as well as industry best practices which would influence the M&T Bank Third-party Risk Management Program. * Identify gaps and recommend process and program improvements. * Lead meetings with management and lines of business to provide analysis, feedback and observation on the accuracy of information at each phase and workflow within the Third-Party Risk Management Program. * Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. * Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. * Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. * Complete other related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree at least 4 years work experience * 2 years' experience in audit, compliance, risk management, vendor management or quality control * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to maintain solid working relationships with internal and external business partners. * Strong problem solving skills. * Strong quantitative skills. * Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software. * Master's degree.
