Summary
Reporting to Regional Bank’s Third-party Program Office Manager, the Business Process Manager is responsible for planning and leading the execution of Third-party Program governance activities required to effectively support Regional Bank’s Third-party Managers and Executives. These activities include but not limited to: Reporting & analytics; Risk management & issues remediation; Establishing Program standards, and tools; Incorporating best-practices and continuous improvements into Program processes; Staying abreast and provide thought leadership on emerging risks, trends, and best-practices in vendor management and outsourcing. With focus on risk mitigation, the Business Process Manager works with stakeholders to review, analyze, and evaluate business processes, systems, and regulatory requirements to improve the overall business results. The incumbent in this role will also lead or supports projects and programs through the analysis and development of business requirements, including the planning and implementation of solutions as required.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for owning and proactively managing Regional Bank’s Vendor Risk Management System (VRMS) records, maintaining data integrity, producing scorecards and reporting dashboards, and conducting analysis of the Regional Bank’s third-party portfolio. * Management of the Regional Bank’s contract pipeline/portfolio through the lifecycle, and produce routine status reports and analysis for senior management. * Coordinate with other data systems/repositories stakeholders (e.g. Arriba, Selecta, RADAR, etc.) to improve data management, data integrity, and data access. * Owns portfolio-level dashboards (monthly views of compliance status, site visits, due diligence activities tracking, contract pipeline reports, etc.), and produces reports for senior management & executives. * Responsible for managing ongoing open component remediation & ensuring Regional Bank remains compliant. * Responsible for understanding problems, managing issues to resolution and escalating as necessary to meet timelines. * Evaluates current state business processes, from beginning to end, to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. Leads and conducts assessments and provides supporting documentation of findings. * Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvement recommendations (business requirements definition, gap analysis, cost-benefit analysis). * Recommends solutions (including technology and business related) based on root cause analysis, feasibility analysis and research of sound industry practices. * Engages with senior management; creates and delivers senior management level presentations. * Assesses change readiness, manages the planning and implementation of process improvement and/or change management initiatives; creates roadmaps to move from current state processes to future state processes. * Drives/leads outsourcing/offshoring opportunity assessments for Regional Bank as necessary * Participates, or leads, regulatory exercises and activities.
Ideal Candidate
* 8+ years in roles dealing with third-party risk management, vendor risk management, outsourcing/offshoring, audit/risk/compliance, contracts management, program management, program governance, program reporting/data management & analysis, or similar roles. * Requires strong understanding of regulatory requirements from Banking regulators around third party risk, third party risk management, and outsourcing. * Requires strong understanding of the third-party management lifecycle and associated activities, deliverables & outputs. * Works effectively with cross functional teams, including IT, project managers, multiple levels of management, business partners and vendors. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with strong project management skills, including solid analytical and problem solving capabilities. * Assertive, energetic, and a self-starter; ability to work autonomously and initiate/prioritize own work. * Experience in facilitating, gathering, documenting and analyzing data and business requirements. * Strong interpersonal skills required to interact effectively at all levels of the organization including bank staff, management and regulatory examiners. * Ability to analyze risk trends, identify signs of changing risk levels and/or symptoms of process control breakdowns. * Experience preparing & conducting senior management level presentations. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. * Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio. * Subject matter expertise or professional certifications in outsourcing or vendor management a plus.
