Summary
Lytx is seeking a highly qualified Payroll Administrator to manage our compensation processing, reporting and accounting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Payroll Administrator will build on current processes and software systems to help create efficiencies in processing our bi-weekly payroll and will be a key member of the accounting team during month end close. Also, the candidate will work closely with our human resources and tax team. The successful candidate will be joining a fun, fast paced, high-growth company and will be involved in the on-going building and improvement of the company systems and the accounting department.
Responsibilities
* Maintains payroll information in ADP; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data * Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers * Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts * Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages * Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments * Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies * Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests * Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures * Through ADP, complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions * Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Education: BA/BS in Accounting or Finance preferred * Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities * 4+ years of progressive payroll * Good oral and written communication skills * Ability to prioritize and organize work flow * Knowledge of and experience with strong internal controls and systems * Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills * Experience with ADP required * Proficiency in MS Office Suite required; proficiency in NetSuite preferable
