Summary
The AVP, Managing Editor is a critical strategic role at Lincoln Financial Group, and is responsible for leading the organization's Internet Editorial Board and public website content. Reporting to the VP Brand management, this individual is a member of the internet editorial board, responsible for creating valuable content, simplifying navigation and ensuring fast, secure access and optimal availability for users.
Responsibilities
* Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Provides strategic direction to build and enhance the capability for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility * Identifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility * Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies. * Works with the senior management and business departments and contributes to the strategy and functions of the website * Collaborates with management and the Internet Editorial Board to establish policies and procedures for managing content to ensure that it complies with business and technical requirements, including search engine optimization, regulatory compliance and content development guidelines * Partners with business teams and the advertising content team to ensure a constant supply of high-quality, up-to-date content, leveraging the fullest capabilities of the content management system, including multivariate testing, site surveys and other tools and indicators. Aligns functional requirements and integrate capabilities with other business functions and systems * Partners with Information Technology to align functional requirements and ensure site performance across browsers and mobile devices. Represents and advocates for end user needs and expectations * Partners with creative to review and source material from internal and external providers and work with designers, photographers and writers to create content that is optimized for the Web * Develops site metrics and establish baselines, where needed, to ensure that the site meets or exceeds industry standards and the user/business requirements and increases satisfaction levels among customers, employees, SUPPLIERS and visitors * Reviews website statistics and monitors usage and traffic levels to maintain up-to-date information on site performance. Provides reporting to senior management and stakeholders to drive organizational understanding of enhancement opportunities. * Ensures that the site achieves a high position in search engines, using search engine optimization techniques to improve rankings. * Researches emerging technologies and services that may enhance the website experience, and helps plan future enhancements to the site. * Works with business and technology partners to ensure optimal site performance, including the performance of ongoing, systematic quality assurance and user acceptance testing across the site to ensure highest quality standards
Ideal Candidate
* Undergraduate degree and 4+ years of comparable work experience required * 10+ Years of experience in a role that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position with 3+ years of journalism, writing/editorial experience. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations * Demonstrates ability to communicate knowledgeably and credibly with senior management and internal constituents * Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution * Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form * Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists * Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines * Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement processes improvements * Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding * Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches * Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with collaborative style * A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations * Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions * Drives performance targets to completion
