The Commercial Financial Analyst will be part of a core team with responsibility for business planning and analysis. This role will also have significant exposure to senior level management within the US & Canada Region as well as at a corporate level, and is a tremendous opportunity to combine technical analysis with large scale strategy. The Commercial Financial Analyst is responsible for providing standard financial and management reporting, budgeting forecasting and ad-hoc financial analyses support to the business for the purpose of maximizing the benefit of resources deployed in meeting Libbey’s overall strategic plan. This Financial Analysis role will be a key resource to the financial and commercial organizations in development of business strategies including selling and profitability improvement. The position reports directly to the Regional Controller, USA/Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools and management reports to improve financial processes and decisions through the use of fact-based information and analyses - Work closely with business partners and various business leaders to forecast revenue monthly and understand risks and upsides to forecasts - Provide various analysis on Innovation Pipeline projects - Measure forecast accuracy and work to improve processes to allow for continuous accuracy improvement - Prepare detailed monthly analysis including but not limited to: Price / Volume / Mix, Customer profitability, gross to net analysis, etc. - Prepare customer level profit and loss statements and advise on opportunities for improvement - Evaluate customer incentive plan both in advance of offering and subsequent to implementation - Evaluate financial outcome of various decision alternatives; provide management with information on potential decision impacts along with recommended options and action plans
Ideal Candidate
- 3-5 years in finance or accounting with 1-2 years of providing commercial decision support and financial planning and analysis - Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required CPA/CMA and MBA preferred
